UNN has vast experience of teaching Russian to foreigners. Only highly skilled instructors holding degrees in philology, psychology and other relevant subjects work in this programme, which is essential for teaching a foreign language in a multinational environment. Teaching is based on modern innovative technologies: instructors work with authentic materials (by means of mass media, audio and video materials, Internet resources), use methods of active learning, interactive games, different forms of discussion, project methods, problem lessons, educational excursions etc.
The fact that no intermediate language is used in class is very important for students without knowledge of international languages. The technique of plunging into the language environment enhances internal motivation for learning a foreign language and hastens psychological and mental adaptation in an unfamiliar country, and thus leads to the ability to fluently communicate, live and go into higher education in a new Russian socio-cultural environment.
