On completing their studies, UNN students may gain a European supplement to their Diploma of Higher Education, which follows the model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES.
The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient and independent information in order to ensure international ‘transparency’ and objective academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). It contains a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies, which were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended. The supplement should be free from any value judgment, equivalence statements or suggestions on recognition. Information should be given in all eight sections.
The supplement contains information in the English and Russian languages on the courses taken by the student, the examinations passed, the qualification obtained, the national system of education and assessment, as well as information on the academic load of each subject on the basis of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
The supplement to the diploma of higher education allows for greater academic mobility and the graduate’s ability to compete in the international labour market.
